"If You can..."

If You can do something….

Desperate, but jaded.
That was him.
That is me.

Wanting to believe for the miracle but using all the power you have for survival.

Having done all the things and prayed all the prayers, he still had a sick son.
A son who was haunted by evil.
A son kept alive by the vigilance of his family.

The disciples tried to help and failed.
Sometimes we think the power of God can be accessed through His inner circle.
And yes, we are sons and daughters of the Most High.

But there is no human substitute for His power.
I am sick of asking man to do what only God can.
I want Him to be gentle with me when I come and pray, “If You can…” prayers.
I believe, but my unbelief is strengthened by the actions of His own followers who assure me they are working on His behalf.

God, like this dad, I believe.
Help my unbelief.
