Based in the desert of West Texas, Amara Bratcher is a full-time student minister who also writes, takes pictures and volunteers with at-risk children. She has written a book entitled The Bridge That Love Built for adopted kids who have gaps in the early years of their lives. I found this in my draft folder, the content years old. Why didn’t I ever hit “publish”? Here it is now, an important stone of remembrance for me.

I know I should feel happy at Christmas - the lights, the decorations, the meaning.
I know this. That’s what makes it so hard.
I don’t like Christmas at all.

I read the symptoms of COPD and yes, it’s quite clear that’s what Christmas does to me.
Shortness of breath
