Based in the desert of West Texas, Amara Bratcher is a full-time student minister who also writes, takes pictures and volunteers with at-risk children. She has written a book entitled The Bridge That Love Built for adopted kids who have gaps in the early years of their lives. She likes her coffee French Pressed and wears her hair curly 365 days a year.

That got me through the Christmas season.

There was nothing that brought me comfort like that name, that promise…not alone.

This mess, this mayhem, this mania - I wasn’t sentenced to endure it unaccompanied.

Immanuel, God with me. Right here. Right now.

It’s a sweet little verse until you realize where He joins us…He is the God who tabernacles with us, who sets up camp east of Eden, joining us in our self-appointed banishment.
