A Good Name

A good name is preferable to riches,
and the approval of others is better than precious silver or gold. - Proverbs 22:1

Your name is given to you.
There is a meaning attached to it, but the true weight of it is built by you, wearer of the name. When people hear your name, what comes to mind?

A good reputation - you're not born with that.
What happens when, for the approval of others, we paint ourselves differently than we are? We shade our stories to cast shadows without substance?
Then we are found to be empty - fraudulent - fake. And then the names that we wear are compromised.

A good name is better than silver or gold...
How do you get back a good name, once lost?

You can't buy it, even if you sold it.

Beware. A good name is valuable...and you rarely know just how valuable until it's gone.
